There is a PIM tailored to you

We implement 5 different PIM tools because the tool must fit your catalog, not the other way around.

Your company's first PIM

  • Launch your catalog before the end of the month.
  • The PIM that needs no IT department.
  • Get in the game without breaking the budget.

The modular PIM

  • It adapts to your architecture, not the other way around.
  • MACH native: zero lock-in, zero friction.
  • Add modules as you grow.

The best for B2B catalogs

  • Syndicate your catalog to each channel with its own rules.
  • Your distributors access the B2B portal with no separate development.
  • Change one piece of data and it reaches all your channels.

The Enterprise standard

  • Manage millions of SKUs across multiple brands and markets.
  • Workflows, roles and full traceability for regulated industries.
  • A global ecosystem of certified partners in every country.

The global solution

  • Govern product, customer, supplier and location data on a single platform.
  • The choice when "PIM" is too small for your operation.
  • Full audit trail for regulated and mission-critical industries.

The right PIM choice depends on four variables: the current and projected size of the catalog, the number and type of sales channels, the operating model (B2C, B2B, or mixed), and the level of governance required by your industry. Plytix fits mid-sized B2C operations with direct catalogs. Sales Layer excels in B2B with intensive syndication. BlueStone works when modularity and MACH are priorities. Akeneo is the multi-brand and multi-market enterprise standard. Stibo comes into play when the scope exceeds the product and covers multiple data domains in a global corporation.

Yes, although migrating between PIMs has a real cost that should be anticipated when choosing the first one. What survives a well-executed migration is the data model: attributes, families, taxonomy, channels, and locales transfer relatively smoothly if they were designed with sound criteria. What is rebuilt is the specific configuration of the new platform and the integrations with your stack. That is why at CRITERIA, we design data models with portability in mind from day one, even when you start with an entry-level PIM like Plytix.

We implement five platforms because they cover most B2B and B2C Spanish-speaking operations, but no list covers every scenario. If your case is an extreme niche—very specific regulatory compliance, integration with rare legacy systems, data sovereignty requirements by country, or catalogs with particular vertical logic like heavy auto parts or specialized pharma—we perform an independent diagnosis. If the answer is another platform outside of these five, we will say so. What we don't do is force your case into a tool where it doesn't belong.

Most PIMs allow some form of trial before a commercial commitment: Plytix offers a direct trial, Sales Layer and Akeneo work with guided demos using the prospect's data, BlueStone allows limited test environments, and Stibo handles enterprise cases through paid POCs (proof of concept). However, the trial alone doesn't answer the important question: whether the PIM will hold up when the catalog scales. That answer comes from a well-executed prior diagnosis, not a two-week trial.

Licensing costs vary based on SKU volume, number of users, connected channels, and contracted modules; providers do not publish fixed rates. As a range reference: Plytix has the most accessible entry-level plans on the market, Sales Layer and BlueStone fall into the mid-range depending on the operation, Akeneo covers a wide spectrum reaching significant annual fees in its Enterprise version, and Stibo is the highest investment due to its multi-domain corporate profile. In all cases, the license is only one part of the total cost: implementation, integrations, and internal operations weigh as much as or more than the annual license.

We treat the PIM decision as a distinct stage of the project, within the Insight phase of the CRITERIA Framework. We start by understanding your business, your catalog, and your current stack; we map real options against your constraints; and we deliver an independent recommendation that includes the suggested platform, the two or three alternatives evaluated, and the criteria that led to the decision. We do not exclusively represent one provider: we implement all five platforms and recommend the one that fits your case, not the one that suits us best.
